2024 KUHeS RESEARCH DISSEMMINATION CONFERENCE

The Kamuzu University of Health Sciences Research Dissemination Conference (KUHeS RDC) is an annual event organized by Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) to promote research excellence and collaboration in the field of health sciences. Established with the vision of advancing knowledge and improving health outcomes, the KUHeS RDC serves as a platform for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to share their findings, exchange ideas, and explore innovative solutions to pressing healthcare challenges.

At KUHeS, we are committed to fostering a culture of inquiry, innovation, and impact. The KUHeS RDC embodies this commitment by bringing together diverse stakeholders from academia, healthcare institutions, government agencies, and the private sector to address complex issues facing the healthcare landscape. .

During this conference, participants will discuss and reflect on improving quality of health through a multidisciplinary approach in Malawi. KUHeS is therefore inviting interested investigators to submit abstracts relevant to any of the following thematic areas:

Key highlights of the KUHeS RDC include:

1. An Engaging keynote speech by a renowned expert in the field.
2. Oral Presentations of cutting-edge research across various disciplines within health sciences.
3. Poster sessions showcasing research from students and early-career researchers.
4. Interactive panel discussion on emerging trends and critical issues in healthcare.
5. Networking opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.

Through its comprehensive program, the KUHeS RDC aims to foster collaboration, inspire innovation, and drive positive change in healthcare delivery, education, and policy.

This year’s conference will be the third and will be held from Wednesday, 2nd October to Friday, 4th October 2024 at Amaryllis Hotel, in Blantyre, Malawi. The theme of the conference is “Research and Innovation Driving Health Towards #MW2063”.

During the conference, participants will discuss and reflect on improving quality of health through multidisciplinary research and innovations in Malawi. KUHeS is therefore inviting interested investigators to submit abstracts relevant to any of the following thematic areas:

4. Climate Change
5. Environmental Health
6. Health Systems & Policy
7. Non-communicable Diseases
8. Social & Behavioural Sciences
9. Trauma & Emergency Medicine
10. Epidemiology & Public Health
11. Sexual and Reproductive Health
12. Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health

Early bird registration fees are as follows;

1. Undergraduate students: MK50,000
2. Postgraduate students: MK60,000
3. KUHeS faculty members and affiliates staff: MK90,000
4. Other local delegates: MK120,000
5. International delegates: $200

Early bird registration fees are valid until Wednesday, July 3, 2024. After this date, late registration fees will be enforced, as outlined below.

3. KUHeS faculty members and affiliates staff: MK100,000
4. Other local delegates: MK150,000
5. International delegates: $250
